Built to be used without looking

The control is a ring roughly two thirds of the screen wide, because the person pressing it is often wearing gloves, in daylight, or holding something else in the other hand.

  • Every state is distinguishable at arm's length — transmitting, receiving, requesting, busy
  • Transmitting and receiving differ by hue and direction of travel, so the two read apart without colour vision
  • The ring thickens with your voice, so you can see that the mic is actually picking you up

You hear it the moment it is said

Audio plays as it arrives. Nobody accepts a call, nobody stops what they are doing, and a message sent to a channel reaches everyone connected to it at once.

  • Live voice streams in 20 ms frames rather than waiting for a recording to finish
  • One speaker at a time per channel, arbitrated by the server, so two people talking over each other cannot happen
  • Connection quality is shown before you key the mic, not after the message fails

Nothing is missed because you were busy

Every transmission is also recorded, so the channel has a history you can play back — not a wall of chat bubbles, but a radio log.

  • Replay any transmission, or play straight through what you missed
  • Durations to a tenth of a second, because on a radio log that difference matters
  • A transcription line on every row, filled in on the device that recorded it

One person, a team, or everyone

Direct messages for one-to-one, channels for a shift or a site, and org channels that every member of your organisation can reach.

  • Private and org channels are end-to-end encrypted on member devices
  • Public channels get TLS and encryption at rest — and the app labels which is which
  • Presence shows who is reachable before you speak: available, busy, solo, offline

The part a radio cannot do

On analogue two-way radio, anyone with a scanner in range hears your traffic. On push.tt, private and org channel keys live on member devices and our servers relay ciphertext they cannot read. That is the whole reason this product exists.
